Dr. Tami H. Wyatt is the Torchbearer Professor and Associate Dean of Research in the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Nursing. She also co-directs the Health, Innovation, Technology and Simulation (HITS) Lab with her long-standing research partner—an engineer. Dr. Wyatt, a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow alumna, is a nurse scientist and entrepreneur who works closely with engineers, graphic designers, and design thinking strategists to create innovative solutions in healthcare including, for example, mobile apps to improve patient experiences. Dr. Wyatt serves on the information technology expert panel for the American Academy of Nursing, co-leads the mobile health task force for Nursing Knowledge Big Data Initiative led by nurse informatics experts, and serves on the innovation advisory board for the American Nurses Association. Dr. Wyatt seeks opportunities to improve healthcare experiences for health personnel and patients through innovation and technology.
