Linda Aiken

Linda H. Aiken, PhD, RN, FAAN, FRCN is Professor of Nursing, Professor of Sociology, Founding Director of Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research, and Senior Fellow of Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Aiken is an NIH-funded investigator and author of more than 400 scientific papers. She is an elected member of National Academy of Medicine, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a former President of the American Academy of Nursing. She studies the impact of the organizational context of healthcare delivery on patient, workforce, and cost outcomes in the U.S. and internationally. Her research has been recognized by the Lienhard Award for Advancement of Healthcare from National Academy of Medicine, Individual Codman Award from the Joint Commission, Distinguished Researcher from ResearchAmerica, Christiane Reimann Prize from International Council of Nurses, and Episteme and Research Hall of Fame awards from Sigma Theta Tau International.
