Renee Thompson is the CEO and Founder of the Healthy Workforce Institute, whose mission is to eradicate bullying and incivility in healthcare.

With more than 30 years as a clinical nurse, nurse educator, quality manager, and nurse executive, Dr. Thompson is a sought after thought leader on cultivating healthy work cultures. Her evidence based and practical interventions have equipped thousands of healthcare leaders and their teams with the skills and tools they need to address disruptive behaviors, improve nurse well-being, and cultivate a culture of professionalism and respect. Dr. Thompson has lent her expertise as a member of the Joint Commission’s Task Force on Workplace Violence, is one of only 30 nurses in the world who have achieved the prestigious certified speaking professional designation, and in 2018 was recognized as one of LinkedIn’s Top Ten Voices in Healthcare for her contribution to their global online healthcare community.

Dr. Thompson earned her master’s degree in Nursing Education and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Pittsburgh.
