Edmund J. Y. Pajarillo is Associate Professor, Department of Graduate Studies in Nursing, College of Nursing and Public Health, Adelphi University, NY.
Throughout his career, Dr. Pajarillo’s focus has always been on the tripartite interrelationships of leadership, mentoring, and nursing informatics; collectively informing his research, practice, teaching, and service. He strongly believes that nursing informatics drives changes and innovations, as evidenced by his work to introduce efficiency, relevance, quality, safety, equity, diversity, and inclusion in high impact educational pedagogy and curriculum, data-driven decision-making and mentoring, and a critical eye for creative and innovative initiatives. Some examples of his work include the integration of his conceptual framework on nursing information behavior with information literacy, processing and management; developing a patented onboarding program for incoming graduate students to equitably prepare them for enhanced learning, success and program retention; and, collaborating with various scholars and educators locally and internationally to heighten their awareness on leveraging nursing informatics to transform existing processes and systems.
Dr. Pajarillo obtained his PhD from Long Island University and MSN from Excelsior College in New York, his Master in Public Administration and BSN from the University of the Philippines Manila.
