Sonya Moore is the Director and founder of the Leadership Excel and Achievement Program (LEAP), the first post-baccalaureate Advanced Practice Nursing Certificate program to diversify and increase the nursing workforce. She is an Assistant Professor at the Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. Dr. Moore has over two decades of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in urban, rural, and critical access practices. Her leadership is rooted in her multifaceted career as a CRNA. As an American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Fellow, past member of the Board of Directors at the national and state level for nurse anesthesiology practice, and Federal Political Director, she influences health policy on a local, state, and national level. She is currently a Board Director for The National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Dr. Moore's credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University. In addition, she has extended her education with a fellowship in leadership as a Marian K. Shaughnessy inaugural Coldiron Leadership Fellow.
