Marsha L. Maurer is Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services and the Cynthia and Robert J. Lepofksy Chief Nursing Officer at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts. BIDMC is a 673 bed academic medical center and level I trauma center affiliated with Harvard Medical School and is a part of Beth Israel Lahey Health.
Dr. Maurer directs over 4,000 nurses, social workers, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists and support staff in delivering outstanding care to over 40,000 patients annually. She has led the development of innovative academic-practice partnerships supporting hundreds of nurses to advance their careers, with a particular focus on developing an academic pipeline for nursing leadership and for under-represented minorities to advance from an Associate Degree to a BSN.
She has served as a board member for the Organization for Nurse Leaders, is a Fellow of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and has served on the FAONL selection committee for the past three years.
Dr. Maurer holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a BSN from Northeastern University, an MS from Boston College and a DNP from Simmons University.
