Jun Lei is a Professor at The Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University. Dr. Lei’s nursing research, education, and practice focus on health issues in women and the elderly. In healthcare for women, she has led a nurse-led MDT to provide mental health services for OB-GYN patients, directing over 300 nurses with mental health knowledge and skills and strengthening the role of a nurse in women’s mental health. She developed the first Female Infertility Stigma Scale widely used in 10 countries. In healthcare for the elderly, as a co-founder, she initiated the Chinese Nursing Informatics Committee in 2012 and advocated a master's degree program in nursing informatics at Central South University.
Dr. Lei also developed intelligent software based on the MoCA Scale providing real-time scores in the evaluation to facilitate dementia screening which has served more than 20,000 people and established an online platform for caregivers of the disabled has been generalized among caregivers of patients in the geriatrics and neurology department, with nearly 2,000 online visits. She previously held leadership roles as Vice chairman of the Chinese Nursing Informatics Committee and a Standing member of the Committee for Nursing Science of the Chinese Association for Improving Birth Outcome and Child Development.
Dr. Lei earned her BSN, MS, and PhD degrees from Central South University.
