Simon Ching Lam is currently the Associate Dean (Research) and Professor of the School of Nursing, and Centre Director of Integrated Health Centre at Tung Wah College. He has over 15 years of teaching experience as an academic in both Government-funded and self-financing tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. He also serves as Associate Editor of BMC Infectious Diseases, Frontiers in Public Health, and Frontiers in Medicine. Academically, Dr. Lam has published over 90 refereed articles and book chapters in the field of infection control, psychometric testing, and public health. He developed the Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale for measuring compliance with infection control practice among nursing in clinical settings. This scale has been translated into more than ten languages and is adopted for use in over 30 countries.

Dr. Lam earned his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained the Fellow in Research and Education from the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing. He received the 2021 Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award for the Asia Region from the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and was recognized in 2020, on Stanford University’s List of the World’s Top 2% Scientists.
