Elizabeth Gatewood is the Assistant Dean of Education Technology and Innovation, an Associate Clinical Professor, and co-Director of the FNP program at the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Gatewood’s scholarly activities aim to improve health equity through diversification of the workforce and improved access to care. Access to care has been expanded through webinars for primary care providers to treat common mental health conditions, implementation of shared medical appointments in the Central Valley, and a course for students on opioid use disorder preparing them for practice and additional licensure upon graduation. She has developed pathways for students to work in rural and underserved settings through a rural health concentration, clinical partnerships in rural settings, and clinical intensives. Her scholarly activities have been supported through federal and state grants.

Dr. Gatewood received her BSN from New York University, her MS from the University of San Francisco, and her DNP from Duke University.
