Stephan Davis is the inaugural Executive Director of Inclusive Leadership Education and an Assistant Professor in the department of health administration and Assistant Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Virginia Commonwealth University, College of Health Professions.

Dr. Davis is a distinguished scholar and fellow of the National Academies of Practice and a fellow and national faculty member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. During his time as a practicing healthcare executive, he facilitated organizations becoming designated as leaders in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality with the Human Rights Campaign. As the 2020-2021 chair of the American College of Healthcare Executives LGBTQ Forum, he advanced the dissemination of best practices in LGBTQ+ inclusion. In 2020, he served as an invited conferee for the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation conference on Addressing Harmful Bias and Eliminating Discrimination in Health Professions Learning Environments, which culminated in a report of recommendations and action steps. He has continued to partner with the Foundation to disseminate the recommendations and offer thought leadership through diverse channels.

Dr. Davis earned his DNP in healthcare leadership, systems, and policy from Yale University, his master’s degree in health systems administration from Georgetown University, and his BSN from University of Maryland.
