Lu Chen is the Deputy Director of Nursing Department at the Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School.
Dr. Chen’s primary contributions to the nursing profession include launching a chronic disease management program to assist populations with chronic conditions; innovating advanced nursing skills and techniques, resulting in improved patient outcomes; and advocating the implementation of public healthcare service to promote the advancement of the healthcare system at the national level. She took the initiative to reform and employ the hospital-family-community chronic disease management model in China and advocated the model in various academic conferences across the nation and abroad. She proposed a set of aspiration-prevention strategies, which has been adopted by numerous tertiary hospitals in China. To achieve public health resource equity, she assisted the government in creating a nationwide medical alliance program and guided grassroots medical institutions. In addition, during a public health emergency, she led hundreds of medical staff to address the crisis and traveled abroad to share the experience of the Chinese.
Dr. Chen received her BSN from Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, her MS from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and her DN from Chinese University of Hong Kong.
